Mariella Purvis, Board-Certified Physician Assistant

Mariella Purvis has practiced dermatology in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area for over twenty years. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Richmond in 1994 and her Masters in Medical Science as a Physician Assistant in 1998 from Emory University in Atlanta. After two years as a physician’s assistant in family practice, Mariella began her specialization in general dermatology cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic surgery, completing her training in 2001.

Mariella works in the evaluation and management of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic patients, including diagnosis and treatment of acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, moles, and warts in both children and adults. She performs the full range of treatment procedures including biopsies, cryosurgery, excisions, neurotoxin injections, hyaluronic acid injections, micro-needling, chemical peels and laser treatment of sun damage.

Fluent in Spanish. Mariella Purvis is a frequent international traveler. She lives in Maryland with her husband and three children.

Mariella has a special interest in treating patients of all different skin types to address their unique individual needs.
