Everything You Ever Wanted to Know (& More!) About Liquid Facelifts, from Chevy Chase, Maryland’s Premier Cosmetic Dermatologist
Don’t be fooled by the beauty companies trying to sell this magic cream, or that miracle lotion, “guaranteed to lift and firm in two easy steps, and ten quick minutes!” We’re sorry to say there’s no such thing. But there are many products that can be injected into the skin, with dramatic improvements!
The highly skilled cosmetic dermatologists at Chevy Chase Cosmetic Center specialize in one such treatment, known as the liquid facelift.
Here’s everything you need to know — and then some!
What is the Liquid Facelift (also known as the nonsurgical facelift)?
The process known as Liquid Facelift achieves full-facial correction by combining three injectable treatments: Botox Cosmetic to soften the wrinkles around the eyes and forehead; Voluma to lift the cheeks; and Juvederm® to fill in the marionette lines. There is no surgery involved in the liquid facelift, and most results can be seen on the day of treatment.
Does the Liquid Facelift require surgery and/or general anesthesia?
Let Chevy Chase Cosmetic Center lift and firm your face, right in our Chevy Chase, Maryland office, and all without the need for general anesthesia. Depending on if you want a lot of change, or a little, the procedure can be performed in a few short minutes.
Is the Liquid Facelift painful?
The injections themselves take only moments to complete, and any discomfort rarely lasts beyond the actual injection period. A topical or local anesthetic, or ice gel packs can be used to minimize discomfort, as needed. Ask your cosmetic dermatologist about pain-relief options that may be right for you.
How long does the Liquid Facelift last?
How long your individual liquid facelift will last depends on a variety of factors, including the area(s) of the face being treated, the timing of touch-up treatments, and your own aesthetic goals and concerns. But what we can tell you for sure is this: JUVÉDERM® is the first and only non-surgical dermal filler FDA-approved to instantly smooth moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around your nose and mouth, lips and cheeks for up to one year with optimal treatment. Juvederm Voluma, the only FDA-approved filler for the cheeks, can last up to two years.
Why would I choose the Liquid Facelift rather than the traditional surgical facelift?
Ask us, and we’ll tell you a better question might be, “Why wouldn’t you?” Sure, surgical facelifts are growing in popularity — and they might even last longer — but just the same, more and more people are searching for a less-invasive, less time-consuming, less-painful alternative. A liquid facelift with Botox and Juvederm is that alternative.
