Eric
Finzi, MD, PhD
Eric Finzi, MD, PhD, is medical director and president of Chevy Chase Cosmetic Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery Associates in Greenbelt, Maryland. A true, modern day Renaissance man, Dr. Finzi is a board-certified dermasurgeon, with a PhD in biochemistry, and an accomplished artist and sculptor whose work has been exhibited in New York City, Chicago, Miami, and Washington, DC, galleries. With the visual acuity and skilled hands of a sculptor, Dr. Finzi applies his artistic sensibility to his cosmetic dermatology practice by finely sculpting bodies and faces with a variety of high-tech, less-invasive, and safe methods including Thermage, dermal fillers, lasers and Tumescent liposuction. The results are often life changing for the thousands of people he has successfully treated.
Dr. Finzi graduated summa cum laude with a BA degree in biology from the University of Pennsylvania. He received a full scholarship to Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City where he earned his MD and PhD in biochemistry. Following medical school, he spent two years as a Medical Fellow researching causes and treatments for skin cancer at the National Cancer Institute, a part of the world renowned National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. After completing his dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, he founded Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery Associates in 1992. He opened the Chevy Chase Cosmetic Center in 2005 to meet the growing interest in cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Finzi has authored over 20 research publications and has been on the faculty of the Dermatology Department at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. He is an active member of The American Academy of Dermatology, The American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and The Washington Dermatologic Society, participating in annual meetings and lectures with leading dermatologic surgeons worldwide.
An expert in dermatology and liposuction, Dr. Finzi has been featured in a variety of television programs including A & E’s Investigative Reports: Beauty Under the Knife, and Maryland Public Television’s Digital Connection. He has been regularly featured on local Washington, DC, news programs for WUSA-TV (CBS), WJLA-TV (ABC), and WTTG-TV (Fox). In print, Dr. Finzi has contributed to articles cosmetic dermatology for Glamour and Prevention magazines.
